Julie & Carl - Cupitts Winery, Ulladulla

Julie emailed me just a few short months prior to her wedding day and told me that she will be walking down the aisle in a town called Ulladulla, which I never heard of before so I turned to Google Maps. Google Maps is probably one of the most accessed sites in my job (Gmail, Pinterest, WordPress, Facebook are some of the others)!

After a 3 hour drive down south, We reached this beautiful little winery perched on the top of a hill (with the most amazing views!), Cupitt’s Winery is where Julie & Carl renewed their vows that day. Julie & Carl got married officially back in Sweden late 2012 and have settled back in Sydney to celebrate with the rest of their family & friends. Their story goes… Julie worked abroad in Brussels and were workmates with Carl’s long time friend. Said friend organised a night out at the bar so Julie can meet some of his friends, which included Carl. One incident that night led Carl into injuring himself, which allowed Julie to take care of his wounds. Some say.. perhaps it was Julie’s motherly side that caused a lasting impression to Carl. Their love for each other truly blossomed, even with the challenges of long distance relationship in between… and now they call Australia home. I should’ve mentioned earlier that Carl is Swedish, so there had to be singing and toasting of Schnapps involved! It is always fun learning of wedding traditions from different cultures!

We were only there for a short time, but loved being in the presence of these two and their fun crowd. Thank you for bringing us to lovely Ulladulla to document such a special day Julie & Carl! Wishing you all the best in married life, and more so as new parents to your newborn baby!

I’m already looking forward to my next time to Cupitt’s Winery.. whether it be for a wedding or… just another short relaxing getaway…. :)
